Hey Reader,

Managing life on the road isn’t easy—there’s always something to figure out, right? Over time, I’ve found a few tools and memberships that make RV life so much easier.

Since it’s Black Friday and literally everything is on sale, I wanted to share some of my favorites with you. These are the things I recommend to other RVers all the time—and if you haven’t checked them out yet, now’s the perfect time.

Fulltime Families

If you are traveling with kids, a fulltime families membership is pretty much a must. It’s a great way to meet other families, build connections, and even make lifelong friends.

We’ve traveled with other families for months, and it makes life on the road so much better. Last week, we hosted a Friendsgiving event for 30 other Fulltime Families members—it was SO MUCH FUN! Before the week started, we only knew one family, but by the end, we had three more we’ll definitely meet up with again.

Thousand Trails

This is a game-changer for full-time travelers. Thousand Trails is a campground membership where you pay upfront (or a small monthly fee—we pay around $300) and then camp for free at over 200 campgrounds all year long.

It saves a ton of money and makes it easier to meet other fulltime travelers. We’ve run into the same families in different states more than once—Texas one month, Florida the next. It’s always a fun surprise to see familiar faces.

CampNab

If you’ve ever tried booking a spot at a sold-out campground (hello, Bahia Honda!), you know how frustrating it can be.

CampNab makes it easy by sending you alerts when a spot opens up. We’ve snagged last-minute reservations this way and it’s been a total lifesaver.

Starlink

If you work from the road, Starlink is a must-have. We’ve used it since day one and have never been without internet. As long as you’ve got a clear view of the sky, you’re good to go.

RV Life

RV Life is my go-to GPS app. Google Maps has gotten me into trouble too many times, but with RV Life, I can put in my RV’s height, weight, and length, and it gives me an RV-friendly route. No more worrying about 10-foot bridges with a 13-foot rig!

Bonus: At our Friendsgiving event, I learned you can save trips in RV Life and share your plans with others. One family we met shares their future routes so it’s easier to meet up on the road. How cool is that?

These are just a few of my go-to tools for making RV life easier. Let me know if you have any favorites I should add to my list!

Laura

Hey Reader, Have you ever heard of an Ask Me Anything? An AMA is a meeting where one person opens the floor to any questions from an audience. These sessions can cover a wide range of topics and don’t have to stay on subject. Of course, it’s up to the person hosting to make the rules. They’re usually hosted to help people get to know each other and expand their knowledge or view on a topic. Why am I telling you this? Well, this week I want to host an Inbox Ask Me Anything. I really want to...

Hey Reader, If you’re gonna take my advice about RV living, it’s important for you to really know who you’re getting your info from, Reader. Rather than just write out our whole life story though (who would read that, anyway?), John and I thought it would be fun to play 2 Truths and a Lie. Remember that game? We give you 2 truths and a lie about ourselves. And you hit reply and let us know which you think is the lie. Let’s go! 1️⃣ John and I met online 2️⃣ We both work FT remotely while...

Hey Reader, Did you know that Google Maps doesn't tell you the heights of bridges? Spoiler alert, it's not going to tell you weight limits either. When you're driving an RV you need to know these things! And that's where RV Life comes in. You put in your height, length (including your tow vehicle) along with a few other details (like if you have propane on board) and then the app tells you the best routes to take. If you like the AC's on your. roof, you'll definitely like this app! This app...
